Bump. I know next to nothing about good beer, and I want to drink something really good tomorrow night. Someone suggest something delicious and reasonably priced ( < 10 bones for a sixer). I tried Rolling Rock and Sam Addams yesterday and wasn't a huge fan of either.

Newcastle Brown Ale is both common and delicious.

Newcastle has a hint of skunkiness to it, but in a good way. I'm not really an expert on this crap.. would that be the hops?

Yeah but is it good. That Paulaner might be the best beer I have had. I also am I big fan of Abita down in New Orleans.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a big fan, but Abita Amber's a pretty good little beer.

Magic Hat #9 is pretty good, but the apricot aftertaste is not for everybody. Their other varieties that I've tried are all pretty good, too, though not as distinctive.

And like the Steel Reserve, it tastes nothing like the beer you're used to. You drink it more like a port/sherry/congac. It very complex & very good. I have a bottle I plan to open at the Christmas party for the homebrew club I belong to.

This was my favorite beer in Europe for awhile. You can't beat fantastic taste + high alcohol content at cheap prices. In America its more expensive [obviously]. That was until they made Christmas brau near the holiday season and that quickly took the top spot. Not only does it have just a slightly better taste, but it is 12.9%. A 1/2 Litre was only 3euro at the local pub near my campus and two of those could get me well on my way for the night. Awesome. It made me cry to know they don't bottle it anywhere though.

I always love the beer threads, and this new one gives me the opp. to share my latest beer score. Its a long story, the short of it, I questioned the beer guy in this liqour store, why the Rouge Hazelnut was $4.67 a bottle as a singel but $14.99 as a case(It shoudl be $50+).
He said "I just do what they tell me.", me "Ok, I'll take it all."

Price as Marked.

Unopened cases left.

What my brother and I have gone through so far.

After the score. Me after I binge drink this fine beer like a frat boy drinking Beast.(Note partially full glass in one hand and remote in other, passed out skill.)

Leinie's Berry Weiss is going to turn me into an alcoholic, I just know it. May not be the "best stuff" out there, but dammit, try one (or ten), you'll see.

They made it Morimoto special for a year or so, then went back to the orig. bottle design I believe.

Chocolate Stout is good too, I'm glad they brought it into a regular release, I remember when it firt showed up as a holiday special run years ago and only getting my hands on two bottles and wishing I had more.
