Re: Grand Tournament V

I had 99. The board was QT3A. Thought the A gave me enough eq to fire another round. Fiinicks isn't a good player. The push didn't make sense, but I'm realatively certain he had me beat.

Re: Grand Tournament V

I didn't think he was making good decisions, I think he is weak enough to have called w/ Ax or Qx. I was supposed to leave for the party 15 minutes ago, but I've made enough excuses to keep watching. People keep pushing all in on Csharps raises. Ex: Csharp raises the 2/4k blinds to 5k in late MP, donk raises to 41k. Everyone folds. Who wants to pick up11k by risking 41k? I know it sounds noobish, but I thought at a 1k buyin people would be abit more careful on the bubble. (20 until the money)

Re: Grand Tournament V

He is also the one stalling every chance he gets. No doubt it was a huge pair and he didn't want to risk getting stacked when I trip on him Not a fun time right now. Almost ready to button up and wait for monsters, but I'll let myself get snapped off one more time.

Re: Grand Tournament V

What happened? All ofa sudden he has 98k. good hand? double up through a donk?

Re: Grand Tournament V

yeah, that 4card str8/3flush didn't look to pretty. He either had the str8, the flush, or nothing. 2pair shuts up on that river. the Bluff to hand ratio was in my favor

Re: Grand Tournament V

no prob. i know you cant REQUEST a sweat if your not at the FT, but that doesn't mean I can't do it anyways. btw, shorty 25 appears to be sucking donkey balls (sorry if your reading this shorty)

edit: whats this? Csharps KK vs. a shorty's all in AA and the chip leaders AK? Is that a board wiht no Ace on it? Yes it is! Double up for csharp biatches!

Re: Grand Tournament V

Blah.

33, 567 board. OOP. 52K in pot. I bet 40K, he raises to 95K. Thinking I was probably good, had FE over 99-JJ, and 6 outs in some cases, I push for 225K. He calls with 88. I dunno know.

CardSharpCook 12-18-2005 01:40 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

naw, no read. Just thought about his range of hands that would make sense for that play. 55-77 would wait until turn. 99-JJ might do that, but might also fold to a push. Also, he wasn't desperate so he could have been bluffing, hoping that I had overcards. Basically, I had his range as 88-JJ, overcards, and I had FE vs. overcards and 99-JJ. No?

Exitonly 12-18-2005 01:49 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

FE vs overcards for sure, but i dont think you can completely counnt out 55-77. Oh, and also, 88.

i think it looked like you were forcing things. maybe not though.

edit: think i should probably get a little more specific than what i did.

pot was: 20k + 20k + 4k + 8k + antes (i'll guess they were around 4k) + 40k + 98k = 194k

you're pushing your remaining 220k (is that right?) to win 194k.

I'll finish the math in next post

Re: Grand Tournament V

I was watching the whole time, and thought you flopped a set honestly.

I blame myself for that CSC...as soon as he raised you I literally said out loud "You can push that..your good".

Sorry man. gg

First ever cash in a MTT after winning a sat. 67th for $1900. Pretty happy .

Re: Grand Tournament V

I honestly don't really think you needed to make such a play you were about 50% above average i think?? In weak field tournaments such as this one with a big stack, I like to show strength in pots where no strength has been shown. I wouldnt risk my whole tournament hoping a guy is smart enough to fold an overpair.

12-18-2005 04:00 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

it was the correctg play if he put him on the overs, but I also don't think i could do that with someone covering me in chips. gutsy.

Re: Grand Tournament V

If anyone cares its a helluva heads up match.
Both joe sod and finnicks have around 3 mil in chips. Finnicks got disconnected (pokerroom kcicks ass) and they are goin nuts trying to make a deal. I mean it was unreal. who gets disc. at the FT where there is a 60k ish diff. between first and second? THis is a good question for the pschycology section. The chatroom was goin nuts cause joesod obviously raised everytime it was his SB, so Finnicks would be check folded. He offered when finnicks go baclk to transfer whatever the amount was back, but finnicks said he couldn't trust him. where the hell are the mods for this case?

also, the game just started back up and sod said he would fold a few hands, thjat it was "sportsmanship". unreal.

12-18-2005 05:07 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

god that was so [censored] cheap, picked up over 1mill chips during that whole disconnect thing and then appologizes, granted i wouldnt done the same thing, but y appologize like hes really sorry?

12-18-2005 05:11 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

nvm disregard last post, he folded back to him about 500k cuz he felt bad... some1 wants a good online profile

12-18-2005 05:12 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

im makin a poll for the psych forum and here. and sod gave back some of that money.

Re: Grand Tournament V

My initial read of fiinicks was that he was a bit of a fish. He seemed to be a push bot. I could count on him to overbet any hand I played with him. Also, he pushed A8o with about 10BBs from the SB vs a CO raise when he had basically no fold equity. He also pushed a much larger stack with K2s in the SB vs a MP raise. This time he did have FE, but.... I don't know. Not the worst plays, I guess. He has balls.

UVaHoo 12-18-2005 05:16 AM

Re: Grand Tournament V

I didn't like that either...he lost well over 1 million chips. Seems like you could either stall or just fold every other hand to keep it even until he got back.
