Re: *Official* Pokerroom 1k III Saturday
Just before the break, I get AK. BB calls my 300 raise. Flop KJ7 - he only has 3200 chips. long story short, river is a 7, he goes AI with 2K, I call, he has K7. and yes, it was sooted. I'm not playing well. 4450 at 2nd break.

Doubled to 22k, 99 vs AQ on a AT9 flop.

Re: *Official* Pokerroom 1k III Saturday
I'm done. last hand was K5 in the BB. button minraises. flop is J52. I check, he puts me AI with a 2K bet into a 650 pot. I call. I lose.
A few hands before this happens - 66 in the BB (75/150), MP1 opens to 350 (first hand after the level increase). Flop is JJ2. He bets 400, I raise to 1200. He calls. Turn is a Q. I bet 1200, he puts me in with a raise to 3500. I fold. How should I play this one differently? CSC |

If you are going to play it, bet out on the flop instead of trying a check raise so that you know where you are. FOLD. 2nd hand: Why call off all of your chips with middle pair? Either fire out at the pot first and put him to a decision, or FOLD and wait for a better hand in a better position. |

K5 hand: I probably should have folded this PF, but I certainly had the odds to call. Why, though, would I want to lead out? Why would I want him to fold anything that I am ahead of at this point? I've got 3X the pot behind, if I'm ahead, I want him to commit to doubling me up. Having flopped 2nd button in a blind battle, I am prepared to die with it, but I want him to commit as many chips as possible if I am ahead. Obviously both hands operate on the same principle of, "if I am ahead, I want you to put as many chips as possible in the pot before I make you fold." Obviously it didn't work in either situation. Re: 3rd break
I'm out. I was picking up tons of mediocre hands and playing aggressively. Of course people kept coming over the top and I had to fold a bunch. So then I pick up TT just after I had to fold AJ to a reraise the hand before. I raise a MP limper who've I've raised a hand full of times, he then limp reraises, I call. flop is 8 high, he bets small I raise, he pushes, and I call. I probably should have been able to get away from it, but I felt like my image was so bad at this point. My table wasn't that tough except for Muchaka, but I couldn't get a rhythm going. And the lack of time bank was killing me on tough decisions. I made a couple of big mistakes, and I'm pretty sure one of them I could have figured out if I had more time.

Re: *Official* Pokerroom 1k III Saturday
I was in, but now I'm out.
Chipped along to about 13/14k after 2nd break. Hand that crippled me.... Small EP raise, 1 caller, I call BB w 86o. Flop an OE straight draw. Check, check, caller bets 300 into 3k pot. Call, call. I hit the nut straight on the turn, but two hearts out now. I bet out and get it all-in for lots vs flop min bettor who has a set...25k pot. Last card pairs the board. Ugh. Guy who won goes off at me cos I played 86o; bit of back and forth...now he's officially labelled a jerk in my book cos of his attitude. Dan005, make sure he goes down. I'm pretty sure he's not around here, cos he played his set weak. |

66 hand: I'm not folding 66 in the BB with 30BBs behind to an (accidental) min-raise. Are you really folding on a JJ2 flop with 66? Also, will leading out really find out where I am? [/ QUOTE ] You ought to know by now what kind of opponent you are facing, so a bet out will give you a good idea of what your villain is holding by the way he reacts. I dislike a cr because it accomplishes the same thing as the bet out, but ties you to the pot more, and you still have 30bb to work with. If you don't know how villain is going to react to a bet out on that flop, then you shouldn't be calling with 66 preflop with that action, no? |
