My opponent showed A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], and MHIG

I assumed that my play was SOP, given the headsup concept of "winning the most when ahead and losing the least when behind." My thoughts during the hand are as follows:

PF: [no comment necessary]

Flop: Since my opponent reraised my UTG openraise preflop, the possible hands on which I put him are AA,KK,QQ,JJ,TT, AK, and possibly AQ. Obviously, I am way behind to AA-JJ while I am ahead of AK/AQ. Betting out here serves no purpose, since AK/AQ will not be folding here, and could possibly bluff-raise me. Furthermore, if my opponent only calls, I have no way of knowing whether he might be chasing with AK/AQ or setting me up for a turn raise if I bet out again. Hence, I check and call.

Turn: At this point, although I am giving AK/AQ a free look at the river if he doesn't bet, my flop checkcall pretty much telegraphed weakness, meaning if I bet out I run the risk again of getting raised. So giving a potential free card by checkcalling is a risk I'm willing to take.

River: Since my opponent has bet on the flop and turn, my possibly betting here makes no sense, since it is extremely unlikely that he will call with only AQ/AK, unless he thinks I was openraising UTG, and then checkcalling all the way, with KQ/AQ, which are the only hands AK can beat. Consequently, since he will not call the river unless he can beat me, betting serves no purpose other than to set me up to lose 1-2 BB if my hand is no good.
