Raising AJo from the blinds - the endless debate.

I think it has proven time and time again that the equity edge between raising and checking is very tiny and doesnt really favor either play.

There was a good thread somewhere else about a similar point: on the BB with AQo whether to check or raise with 4 limpers. The answer would seem to be dependent on your opponents. If you are in SSHE territory where people will limp with any 2, raising is the way to go. If the limpers are tighter, then raising may be a bad idea. On Prima at least, the full ring games are pretty tight even at 0.5/1 (<30% PFR). Doesn't mean they are great post flop, but raising AJo from BB is probably a mistake. Since Party 0.5/1 is much looser, the raise is probably a good default unless you find you are on a table of tighties (it does happen sometimes!).

Agreed.

Being OOP with offsuit cards isn't the best feeling in a multi-way hand. Although I believe the +/- of raising vs. limping is thin, you really should have a decent read on the table and who is doing the 'limping'.
