yeah don't even play. live, HU/SH vs a LAG/TAG ... 10$/20$ preflop IS standard, believe it or not. you will be destroyed.

find a cardboard box and cut out slits for your eyes.
now cover the slit with uv blocking transparent tape.

voila! you are un-readable.

this is an awesome string. best advice i've read yet on this forum.

If he takes your $200, roundhouse kick him in the nuts, calmly look down at him writhing on the floor, and say, "That's how I roll." And wear party steel toe boots, instead the sandles.

OK, I will buck the trend...

First if $200 is not a big deal to you, play the match. If it is a big deal, dont play it.

If you have a fair amount of HU or 3 handed experience from online ring or SNG's then you likely do have the edge.

Dress normally, really...

Reads are going to be very important, especailly with only starting with 100BB each.

Here are a couple of very general things that generally work in HU play (note I used the term generally twice here, it is very player dependent).

1) Aggression tends to win the day. But in the end you have to show down a winning hand.

2) Middle pair is generally good on the flop.

3) Do not slowplay PF. If you have a decent hand that you would raise from LP in a full game, raise here.

4) There is no shame in folding, even if he shows you junk.

5) Raise more when first to act PF, i.e. the button.

whether or not the button is the SB or BB is a huge determinent in how you should play... you may want to figure this out before you go and play

This is going to be my third time playing live at this place and I would like to dress like a pro. (ie sunglasses or no?)

No do not wear glasses, hats, hoods, that kind of crap. You are playing for 200 bucks, not a WPT final table. Card room regulars make fun of people that dress in battle gear and play at low stakes (for live play), it is a sure way to identify yourself as new to live play. Yes some low stakes veterans wear sunglasses but most of the people at the table that are doing so are not veterans. At higher stakes it is ok.
