Raising the river is great in hand 1. This lets you put in 3-bets total on the turn and the river without opening yourself up to getting 3-bet on the turn and having to decide if he's got a low pair + FD or a monster or air. I think it's a raise/fold situation unless you have a read that he might 3-bet on the river without very strong hands.

In hand 2, you say you were certain the guy would be 100 % of the time when checked to. OOOKKKAAY ... so why are you betting this river? You only open yourself up to lose more money when you're behind and he might even fold if you're ahead. Induce the bluff and call him down. By the way, on the turn, I bet about half the time here, it depends on the players and how they respond to small pots.

Why is everyone wanting to raise river rather then turn? It feels like such a "fishy" slowplay tactic.

Whats the advantage?... why not raise the turn?
