So you give a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5.3:1 odds on a 2:1 shot with your minraise?

Personally I was dumping this on the turn waiting for a better spot. I am pretty sure you intended this for the OP though, good ole quick reply

Was villain a 2+2er? That turn min-raise isn't scaring anyone who has more than a marginal holding. You are bloating a pot that you probably should prefer to showdown cheaply. If I had the A or K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (or any [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]) it is correct for me to call your raise.

Well, my primary concern wasn't protecting my hand, it was getting a cheap showdown. I'm also curious how 12 outs with one card to come would be a 2:1 shot.

Raise more on the flop, make it 12 to go. What would you do if he called you and bet like 10 on the river? Why not just call him on the turn, I dont know if the minraise gets you to showdown any cheaper than the minraise does.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree that my flop raise should have been bigger. However, minraising the turn and being able to check through the river is cheaper that calling the turn and being forced to make a tough decision when he pushes the river.

not sure I like it...here's why.

The hands he's bluffing with fold.
The hands with the flush put you all in.
Pair+flush draw hands have great odds on the call, and therefore should take it.
The hands that are better than yours likely call the raise and lead again on the turn...effectively increasing the price of showdown here.

I think you lose the most/win the least when you are way behind or way ahead. It worked here because he likely had nothing, but I don't think better hands than yours are folding here, but I think worse ones are.

My bad, 2.6:1.

Hand 1: 27.2727 % [ 00.27 00.00 ] { AhTs }
Hand 2: 72.7273 % [ 00.73 00.00 ] { KdQd }

Still, 5.3:1 covers anything anyway.

I don't see how AT [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or any Ax[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] is in his hand range. Still, good point.

I don't know what you are representing by min raise turn. He probably has a weak king. But his line is strange too.
