Hi monkeyboy,

Bet the turn. If you get C/R'd, you are still getting the price to suck out on him and that would be awesome. I would consider 3 betting and taking the showdown if you've been especially nitty to this point, which I suspect you have been, because you don't gamble with white people, especially very pasty ones. This is done because he may use the K as a scare card, but still have a slightly better hand. I think he'd fold AQ here, so lock n' load.

Preflop and flop I like your play.

Turn is the interesting street, and a lot of the time I think you should follow through with a bet here. The king could be a scary card for him as well since you have represented strength throughout. You'd like for him to fold a 6 outer, or maybe you can get him to give up with pocket 5's. If called you can check the river.

If he is a tricky/good player I can see your reason for checking. You are going to get checkraised a fair amount of the time, if behind you have somewhere between 4 and 10 outs and you would be forced to call. Then the river blanks, and you have to fold to a bet in what is by that time a large pot, sick feeling.

After you check the turn, I see no reason to bet the river as you have some showdown value, and I think he will look you up with almost anything.

So I think you should fire again on the turn often in this situation.

I noticed this dude last time I was at Commerce. He sticks out like my boner in 8th grade science class.

Like everyone else at that casino, he is a mutant.

I think you played the hand, uh, no one cares what I think.... Plus I don't know.

So say u bet the turn and he calls. Do you bet the river?

I'd be pretty certain I have the worst hand and I would be worried that against a relative unknown like me the only hands he would fold would be AJ or AQ, so I'd probably check the river if the turn went check-bet-call.

I guess if maybe you had some history you could use that, but as long as he doesnt think your a loon, its pretty hard for him to call with anything but a king or ten jacks or queens if you fire 3 barells after u capped from the bb. Personaly I think the best play is to bet the turn and if called bet the river.

He turned over 88 to take it down. I'm not sure what he would've done but in retrospect I prefer betting the turn since the K is an ugly scare card for a lot of his probable holdings.
