With a VP$IP of 5, the number makes more sense. He only plays AA, KK, and maybe QQ/AKs. So he has to be aggro the whole way.

wow you must get so bored when you play.....vpip of 5!?!? personally i recommend forgetting whatever that book taught you. play more hands (focus on implied odds). read the small stakes NL forum a lot.

AA-6
KK-6
QQ-6
JJ-6
TT-6
99-6
AK(any)-16
AQ(any)-16
KQs-4
ATs-4

76 hands / 1326 = 5.7%

That seems to be about what he's putting money into the pot voluntarily with.

Iv'e read GSHE, and only played a small amount with the short stack strategy, but the starting hand selection seems on track to me. Your AF indicates to me you are in fact doing what Miller says to do, ie, get ALL your chips in early.

Sorry I don't have enough experience here to give points on how to improve, OP.

Thanks for posting your stats.

This post is good because it shows that Ed Miller's strategy does win. It's also good because it shows that it's only good for beginner's, and buying in full and learning the full spectrum of the game is a lot more profitable. After 50k hands, you should try to expand your game.

Alright, you posted what you needed to here for an analysis of your play.

First, as others have noted, you are playing too tight. I am a winning player, I play for a living, I make no other claim about my own PT numbers, but they are here for your comparison.

Your stats:

VP$IP 5.6% - me 16.8%

VP$IP from SB 3.7% - me 27%

Folded SB to steal attempt 95% - me 81%

Folded BB to steal attempt 96% - me 71%

Attempt to steal blind 9% - me 19%

I won money without seeing the flop 35%

Went to showdown 29% - me 30%
Won at showdown 55% - me 53%

Raised preflop 5.5% - me 8%

Aggression factor - you are the highest I have ever seen, but this also means you win 35 cents a lot preflop - and get no action on your hands. My AF is just 1.37%

Players only need to see your hand at showdown a time or two to know not to play anything against you, especially when they only have .25 cents in the pot so far.

If you haven't learned yet, micro-limit NL hold'em is more about playing decent hands and letting the other players trap themselves than trying to steal a few 35-cent blinds. Would you rather win 35 cents with your ace-ace, or play a pair of fives for a quarter and hope to make a set that will often trap somebody for their whole stack?

Good luck to you.

doesn't playing a vpip of 5.5% drive u mad when ur playing. you must have some incredible self control not to tilt playing this uber-tight. i'm a 15/10 and i have to 6-8 table to keep the tilt away.

how short are you buying in? i have been buying in for 60-80 bb instead of the normal 100 lately, and my winrate has still been close to 10ptbb/100 over 15k hands or so. i also play pretty tight, although not as tight as you. according to other posts, it appears that you might be buying in for only 20 bb. that means you can't even play medium pp's for a normal raise. sets are the easiest way to make money in these games, so make sure you buy in enough so that you can play 55,etc. for set value.
