3-betting the flop is a bit spewery at 3/6, although I occasionally do it, but only with reads.

For only 1 extra SB you are playing a hand that will allow you to get more action in future hands. If he's not paying attention then calling down is OK.

I've found it just makes them fold weaker hands quite a bit more, when they'll bet the turn and check/call the river. Again it depends on the villain, though.

Exactly.. 3-betting just makes him check/fold his pair of 7's here. I prefer him to keep betting it.
