It's perfectly acceptable to raise him, otherwise anybody could do this to get exactly one bet in on the river w/o fear of being checkraised.

If he was a huge donator, maybe you let it slide once, and point out to be careful because you could have cr'd him.

how did the floor rule? is "go ahead" a contract check? or is throwing out his chips a contract bet? confusing..
