Pop it, and put a plaster on it.

don't think you're supposed to pop it, just leave it alone, maybe stay off it for a bit.

I thought it was standard to pop a blister with a sterilized pin.

You pop it when you know it's not gonna get use for a bit, then put on a band-aid to keep it flat - this helps it dry flat and not have the skin flappy. This also helps build calluses - which you might actually want on that area.

This is standard for rowers for building finger/hand calluses - but feet, not sure this would be good.

Any athletes that do a lot of footwork around?

My college roommate got a blister between his toes from his sandals. A day later, he was limping around. He went to bed figuring it would get better, but the next morning he couldn't walk at all. Around 7 PM he finally decided to go to the ER. He ended up spending three days in the hospitol. Doctor told him if he hadn't come in that night he would have lost his foot.

My advice to the OP is to call an ambulance.

I think I'll be fine. It wasnt a blood blister. I dont have blood poisoning either. Also, I'm well-bred, eat my share of oats, and brush my teeth every morning.
