It's +EV if you do it in a spot where you know it will work.

It's -EV if you start checking rivers with the goal of making a low content post when you get lucky and he bets.

Not sure that´s a good example, but there are definetly spots where it´s the highest EV option and also alot where it isn´t.

The sexy is very very +EV against thinking players. Even if it costs you a fraction of a bet on one hand, it can save you entire pots down the road.
