A weak ace that wanted to raise the turn but couldn't?

If you think he's not paying off a turn AND river bet with jank, I can see checking behind and trying to coax more out of him on the river. Depends on what you think of him and what he thinks of you. This being 3/6, I think that when confused/unclear, I like the default value bet.

With what? He doesn't appear to have an A as I would expect that to be pushed harder on the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]People like to think you're full of [censored]. You'll get called down with any PP, any pair and a lot of other crap. You'll do much better if you focus on extracting bets when you're ahead, as opposed to inducing bluffs.

turn check is good, just call a river bet. bet if checked to on the river and call a c/r.

He's either drawing dead or I am beat.

many times that he is behind, he has no idea he is drawing dead. He is going to call both streets for you when behind so often that it makes up for anything else you could be thinking about.

poor kid could have a set right now.

This little 21/16 [censored] has been 3-betting my blind steals all night.

This is a pretty simplistic view of HU play. If the guy has been 3-betting him all night, nothing wrong with throwing a cap back at him a few times.

Don't do it every time obv, but nobody dies if it happens once or twice.

(I'm not saying that I love a cap here, but to call it "tilt" is missing the point).

Is this a '2+2 level' thinking player? Does he know who you are? If he's ABC, I'd probably just bet. If he's deeper, I might check the turn.

Normally that's my line. That's not my line here. If the situation has gotten so out of line in the blind steal-resteal dynamic, I think jason has to continue betting here.

There are a few reasons for this:

1) I don't particularly want villain to know that I'm going to be capping against him with JTo, though I do need him to know that I can and will cap against him frequently if he continues to resteal.

2) I need to establish the fact that against me, if you intend to peel the flop lightly or call down, you will often be doing so at a cost of 2.5BB, not 1.5BB.

3) If villain is willing to call me down with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], I expect to earn full value from the hand.
