i think that you should play the 55s for a while. the same decisions that you've been posting will present themselves there, and you'll learn at a discount.

I don't want discounts. I want to lose my money now. I appreciate your concern, but I come for strategy and that is all.

It's not that the miniraise is a monster but rather that AQ is far from being a monster itself.

[/ QUOTE ]

What makes AQ the monster or not depends on who the OP is, but I like your thinking.

These min raises are annoying. If he raises to 350 I think I'm folding...

[/ QUOTE ]

Unless you have a specific read, this shouldn't matter.

Does a minraise really mean a monster so often in the 109:s that you can fold AQ here?

[/ QUOTE ]

With some players yes, with others no. I'm leaning more towards "yes" on a random player at the 109's, "no" from someone from the 22's. It'd be helpful to have a read, because this kind of thing is VERY player dependent.

You should call this. Why are you afraid to play poker?

[/ QUOTE ]

For many reasons, the most pertinent one being that you cannot really play poker when OP has 1/6 of his stack in the middle. Got a plan if he open pushes on any flop into that fairly juicy pot? And why would he check, but to slowplay....or maybe he does just suck? And an UTG min raise - are you sure your Q is even good? Are you starting to see the problems here? Maybe if he had a bigger stack behind I'd call, but...not there.

My advice? It's a tricky spot, and a push/fold situation IMO. The minraise is either scary or great, depending on if your OP is a habitual minraiser. My default play is to fold unless he's shown me otherwise why I shouldn't - even one minraise earlier might change this to a push.
