Ok, Morbo, I think you should consider moving down a level.
Re-raising AK out of the BB is generally a bad idea because you're building a pot out of position with a hand you will miss the flop with 2/3 of the time. The times you do miss, it will be difficult to move your opponent off his hand because, well, he raised with it, so he probably kinda likes it. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

If you want to re-raise AK in this spot, there's really no other move than to push with it. This removes your positional disadvantage and allows your AK to see the whole board. Personally, I would flat call the raise and play the hand from there. On this exact flop, I'm check/folding to any reasonable bet.

Call preflop. Or - if you're wanting to put 30% of your stack in preflop, why not just push preflop?

I think calling is correct here, but am I wrong to think that folding would be better than OP's line?
