I thought about it for a bit, and realized that I say it both ways. Both sound perfectly fine to me.

It's a north/south thing.

In the north, it's aunt. In the south, it's ant.

I grew in the south. I say ant. It's strange to hear people say aunt, to me anyway.

(yeah, I'm aware that's probably the correct way, it still sounds strange)

How do you pronounce "schadenfreude"? Which is a good word for many poker players meaning: Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.

I know, whats Pokah? I think its a dance and so on and so forth.

Not in the Northern Midwest. It's pronounced just like ant. I think it's more a red/blue state thing, with exceptions for MN, WI, and MI.

But it's German, you have to pronounce the E at the end. I say "SHAH-den-froid-uh."
