Just be prepared to do nothing, and I mean NOTHING, but gamble. The only semblance of entertainment is 30 minutes north in Memphis. Usually when casinos are built, they spur some kind of economic development (even if it's pawn shops and check cashing joints), but in Tunica it's literally just casinos and cotton.

I was up the for a month for the WPO in January (my lone excursion as a dealer ever, got a month off of the real job), and was bored out of my mind by day four. And you can only play so much no limit vs. donks, no matter how good the ev. Thank God I had access to a car, or it would have been very ugly.

Can one of you Mid-South locals possibly explain how Tunica has somehow managed not to get a mall, shopping complex, Starbucks, Wal-Mart... I mean anything since they legalized gaming (which I think was something like 12 years ago, right?).

P.S... if you need internet, the smaller hotel across the street from the Grand and is part of their complex has free wireless in their coffee shop. Took my return trip to Tunica for the C-USA basketball tournament in March to find that one... would have saved me TONS of boredom in January!

I havn't played there for a couple months but it's usually 1000 or 2500 in chips. I've never played in a 250.00 or less tourney with 10k in chips. I've only played in 1 tournament that was 500 buy in and it was 1k in chips.
