yeah its opponent process theory.
you see the opposite of the color.
blue triggers yellow and vise versa.
and red triggers green and vise versa.

make sure to check out the einstein illusion that they have on their main page. thats just as fantastic if not more impressive.

so far these 3 illusions have blown my mind (kipin's/dragon/einstein)
