Re: has anyone else lost respect for sklansky lately?

I do appreciate David for his help with my poker game. This latest book SSHE is a work of art IMO. He has been very open with us on his views and there is no doubt in my mind that he is very intelligent. I hope to meet with him next week for personal tutoring for an hour or two before the ME of the WSOP. Having said all that, I do think that he is a proud guy and he does have an ego...But all in all he is an asset to the poker community and his positives outweigh his faults.

I think people should drop this crap. Noone cares what you think of David, and it's fairly obvious that everytime one of these posts come up, it's quickly turned into a moron-fest.

no - how could you lose respect for a guy for speaking his mind?

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe you think the stuff he says is stupid?

Do you have respect for David Duke?

[/ QUOTE ]

quite the stretch there sponger - there's a large difference between thinking something's stupid and being offended by something.

What, exactly, is wrong with a moron-fest? Where else are morons supposed to hang out and have some fun? What, you want them roaming the streets?

i think david as of late can be summed up in one recent quote- "logic supersedes God". between the accompanying arrogance and utter "are you serious?"ness of it all, that has easily become my favorite 2+2 quote of all time. in all honesty i laughed for 3 or 4 minutes when i read that the first time.

[/ QUOTE ]

So you lose respect for David because he seems to doubt the divinity of Jesus and isn't as convinced as you are about the existence of a God. Then you go on to call him arrogant and laugh at him. Why is that? Are you mocking him for...his religiouis beliefs?

Is this not the same thing you site as the reason that you've lost respect for him? Don't worry, I'm sure that someone who finds valuing logic over invisible men in the sky to be laughable fails to see the irony in that anyway.

Sklansky is best read through his books. His non-poker posts online are retarded.

and then his stabs at middle america, with his subtle and implied insults towards anyone who does not doubt the existence of God or the divinity of Jesus

[/ QUOTE ]

all of this is highly stab worthy

You don't find condescension, arrogance, and superciliousness stupid AND offensive?

Hm.

In any event, "Logic supercedes God" is an inane comment, and so obviously disputable as to seem like nothing more than overt provocation.

handling of the negreanu challenge and his half-hearted stabs at anyone of faith

You're a joke.

But this is the WPT forum, so I'm not surprised.
