And this is exactly the kind of dumbass comment I expected. What is wrong with this statement? The $1 Million per day? you are right it is closer to $1.6 million. In what way does this matter?

Reply with something besides being a knee-jerking ass.

So your complaint upon entering a post specified as long, is that it is long? Why did you bother?

Wow -- insightful. I believe I even state that those examples are online casinos and acknowledge that they are specifically NOT poker rooms. And I also believe that I explained what use I felt the examples served.

Finally, that was like 1/10 of the post. Did you read any of the rest of it?

Imagine that, and it even said that in the subject line. Of course the post isn't really stating that poker is rigged. But since you have the attention span of a 2 year old and can't read more than 5 sentences in a row without wandering off -- I am not suprised you don't realize that.

Very thoughtful Sifmole

For the majority of responders:
Does anyone ever read the post, before they reply. If you can't take the time to read the post then don’t respond. Why do people continue to post worthless garbage, flaming the man, after you only read the intro. If reading a several hundred word post is difficult try sitting down with a book occasionally.

Anyway sifmole, I find this to be an excellent point

2) Party poker is supposedly bringing in revenue of nearly $1 Million per day; yet they are seeking to go public.

It is clear that Party poker doesn't intend to build capital unless it plans on buying more skins, or heavier advertising.

I believe it is more likely that they feel that the company has peaked. This doesn't mean I believe party will get smaller tomorrow (or in the next 3 years), but instead that they will have a difficult time increasing new users, while still maintaining old clientele. With about 20% of online poker players (maybe lower or higher, statistics from 2000 i believe) breaking even or better, many other users lose and do not return. They feel that they were unlucky and try other sites. Some do return, but for how long?

Internet poker is an interesting business. In most business, you invest major money in advertising in the first few years, with the plan of spending less as word of mouth increases, and your company becomes more well known. With internet poker this is not true. As your company expands, you need to continue to gain more users as other leave, many never to return. So your advertising increases, even if your business growth stops.

This all could lead to many sites finding it very profitable to rig there software to better evenly divide winnings. I in no way believe any site is currently acting in such a manner. Its just a possible reason for a site to do such a thing. Remember one day the poker boom will be over, I would't want my money invested in party or any site when that happens.

I guess the typical American doesn't want to think a lot (I haven't read all your post as well ). He also believes whatever he is told. (It takes some thought to contradict). I don't know if online poker is rigged. But I don't give my full trust to a gambling company, based in nowhere, that has hundreds of millions $ in stake. We've already witnessed sad stories from more respected companies: Enron (independently audited), tobacco companies (smoking is good for you), even companies that care for our helath (who would believe that Phen-phen would kill poeple!)

People who invested in Enron GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED!!! A simple background check of the company would have told anyone something fishy was going on! Before you invest in something ask yourself What does the company do? Most investors couldn't tell you what Enron did! Yeah, they were an energy company, but they didn’t have oil wells or coal mines. Instead they bought energy from other companies and resold it! Why does this make a good business and is there going to be a continuing demand for it? NO, and NO,

Same thing for smoking at least for anyone from 1970 on (At least that’s the earliest decade i can find some hard research on the effects of tobacco)

But everything you name are great examples of WHY PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP! Companies (and most people) aren't out there looking to help you, believe it or not (and in my opinion, they shouldn’t be).

Instead there out there to make a buck for themselves! If you loose your life savings, your lungs, or your life, what’s it to them? They made money! You look after you that’s it.

Excellent post. I posted on same topic earlier today with same type of predictable responses. When posting on this site I have found that a lot of the responders have extremely poor reading comprehension. These knee jerkers have the same attitude that 40,000 former Kodak employees used to have.Impossible for digital to overtake film and impossible for film to be made outside of USA. Well Kodak just started making film in China and announced more major lay offs.
