Re: Greetings,Players! 6th Str. Dilemma..Hmmm
Call it down. I can't believe anyone would seriously consider folding a made flush vs an opponent about whom you know nothing except his age. A fold has to be right about four times out of five to be right, and I don't think just knowing the guy is in his seventies gives you that degree of certainty.

Larry,
In this situation I base my decision solely on the size of the pot! You say there is about $30 in the pot now. You are going to have to call $10 total in more. 4-1 on a call where you are more than likely beaten ( most of the time ) If the player was halfway decent I'd say dump. And I almost never dump a made hand heads-up on 6th street. A bigger pot and/or a more idiot-like player.. I call. Also,I have noticed that (most) older/lower-limit players are very straightforward. They bet-em when they've got it and fold when they don't. CJ P.S -- If you do fold, this is an instance where you WOULD NEVER tell anyone what you folded. But you knew that |
Happy Thanksgiving,JTG! Since i was showing a 4-flush on 6th
the dealer was obligated to announce this in my 1-5 no ante stud game.
