Make a normal rail and get the slide under acrylic drink holders. They go wherever the players want them.

d00d iz own eet.
If you get the metal ones you can get little ashtray tops for them. Dunno if you allow smoking in your game. I don't as of now even though I'm a smoker. If the game moves to the garage this summer I may allow it and see how the non's react... I do know they hate waiting for hands while we smoke out back. |

Very nice, personally I hate race tracks but they do look nice. Octogans or round are the best tables for games where you pass the cards around for the deal.

"As far as the upholstery goes, his dad did it...he's had his own very successful upholstery business for 40 years. I don't know if it's piped at the bottom or not, but it wouldn't suprise me. I can't tell from any of my pictures and I haven't seen the table in person yet (our game this weekend got cancelled because my band had a gig on Friday). I plan to have his dad do my upholstery too."
For planning's sake, what would a pro like your friend's father charge to do a rail like that? |

I'm sure it varies greatly depending on where you live, but I doubt you could get it for less than $100, and I don't think it would cost more that $250. That's a pretty wide margin, but the quality could vary greatly. This one has the seem "butterflied" out (the flaps from the seem are sewed down underneath) and has piping on the inside and outside. A more simple but less classy job would drop the price considerably, I'd guess. I went and saw the table at lunch today and the whole thing is first class, furniture grade work. |
