Re: KT valuebet?

id bet the flop...and there is no reason not to value bet on the river just like you bet the turn.

if you were raised on that bet i woudlnt think about folding...you are probably beat but its worth an extra BB to find out.

easy value bet. KT is a lot stronger than K5. don't be results based anyway - K5 would be a decent value bet here too.
nice checkraise.

Remember, a few hands before I "valuebetted" K5 and he called down HU with KQ without raising on any street.

He might have you beat. If he does and you check he'll probably bet it right? And you'll call? If he's been passive this long and he's got you beat he's unlikely to raise right? What about all the hands he might have that don't have you beat, will he bet those on the end? Will he call a bet with those? The value bet is predicated on the idea that he'll call more hands where he loses, than bet hands you beat.

This is definitely an instance of where not value betting the river has resulted in the death of a kitten.

Uh, I check raised the flop to thin the field. Also, read my post above about one of them calling down with KQ.

You're very likely to have the best hand on the flop, and you can't be sure someone will bet it for you. I'm betting out.

I would have bet all the way in this hand. Use their passiveness against them. If they don't want to raise with TPGK, then when they do raise you can fold it up easily, cause you know you're up against something better than top pair.

Re: KT valuebet?

I would usually bet out the flop. NOTE: I have been mixing this up lately. I've been using oppurtunies like this - where I'm a blind and hit a pretty decent top pair in unraised pot - to checkraise like you did, thinking that a late position player will take a stab and you can knock people out.

I would definitely bet the river.
