I said 10/15 because everything I know about postflop play, I've learned playing SnGs. But 25/50 is close after that. I'm surprised some people are saying 50/100; by that point I'm usually either short enough to push or fold or tall enough to bully.

This was easy for me to chose.

50-100 seems the hardest sometimes but looking at my poker tracker stats its a no-brainer.

I have a neg chip EV for level 3(25-50) over my last 1k SnGs. Am I alone? My push fold game is getting better and better, and I already know what I need to improve on it. I have no clue how to tackle this level however.

Great post Lori, one I have been meaning to bring up myself.

25/50 suuuucks. 50/100, eh, I either have a pushing stack or a folding stack, but there are Step 5 players that specifically don't know how to play 25/50.

I never really thought 50/100 level was hard to play, but it has always been one of my worst levels in pokertracker.

my vote is 25/50. At this level you likely have the chips to raise 3 or 4xbb. However, if you are called and the flop doesn't hit you or someone comes over the top pre-flop or for whatever reason you need to fold the hand you are in really bad shape. I guess what I am saying is that it becomes easy to get married to a hand or pot at this level and that makes it tough. On the other hand, at the 50/100 the choices are easier (at least when you are short or med. stacked) as you make them all pre-flop: Push or fold!

Just my thoughts,

Ryan

Yes, I agree. Once we reach 50/100 decisions are alot more clearcut.

Generally speaking, I believe in erring on the tight-weak side in level 3. Or rather, only playing hands that I'm prepared to go all the way with.

I agree. I find I'm at 5-7BB by 50/100 in probably half of my tournaments. The 25/50 level confuses me though. I find myself folding hands like TT because a raise will basically pot commit me but a push seems rash as only hands that beat me will call and if they all fold, I'm going to win a magical 75 chips

No you're not. I have neg chip EV (-.03 BB per hand, very negative) at level 3 over my last 200 sng's, and it's really annoying. I'd also like to hear some more advice on playing it.

Steve
