Rio has (always has had) a location problem. To get me over there the Rio will have to spread something other than 2-4 and 4-8. I wasted my money on Penn + Teller once in my life so the casino will have to build out a remarkable poker room to catch me and the rest of the strip traffic. I would also recommend that those going over to the Rio take a cab because they run people down for sport out front.

Side note: I would guess that having experience running a poker room would be a fantastic thing to have on a resume in Vegas right now. It's almost as good as being a security systems expert. Big, big demand.

Ditto. First time I've done it, but well worth it for this guy. I'd bet he's brain damaged enough to keep posting dorky comebacks in our direction, not caring we cannot see them.

Top notch security guys are paid unbelievable amounts...I mean unblievable amounts. My mom was friends with an Elder who's son is a director of something at Ho Chunk (medium sized casino in Wisconsin) he said the Director of gaming security was the 3rd highest paid guy at the place and was making as much less than the GM-VP operations as you would think.

my AK may get beat by 26 off at the excalibur 1-2 NL game and i might have to wait long for my seat

Just let me know when you'll be there. I'll be happy to crack that AK for ya.

BTW, welcome to the ignore list of half the forum because of your lack of punctuation, capitilization, and basic intelligence.

It actually has a great location for a poker room. It's very easy for locals to get in and out of. Having a regular local customer base is more important than you think.

Good point. No, I didn't think or I would have known that.

How do you add someone to your ignore list?

Click on their user name and then a profile window will show up. At the bottom are choices and one of them is "ignore this user". Surprisingly, I have more in the past 2 weeks than my entire time on this board, lol.

UPDATE:

As of 1/3/05 The Rio is no longer running the 12:00 noon tourneys.

I called right after work yesterday morning to get the buy-in info from them and they said they have cancelled them. It has been moved to 7pm, just like most every other game in this city. So much for playing 2 tournaments in one day.

Then again:
Aladdin 1pm
then off to the Rio at 7pm
then Plaza at Midnight on my day off, LOL!
