Russ - TPTK = Top Pair and Top Kicker.

You hold A9 and flop comes 9-7-3? you have TPTK.

Re: Advanced-beginner syndrome. Am I approaching my progression proper

I have read both SSH and Sklanskys first book Hold Em Poker, I have been using the starting hands chart in the first book and am wondering if this chart is accurate for my game, I usually play 2/4 - 3/6 at canturbury and stick to playing the first 6 groups depending on position and whether there has been a PF raise, looser with no raise and tighter with a raise. Some of the examples in the SSH quizzes confuse me because they indacte plays that I would have folded preflop based on what I read in the first book. The quizzes seem to indicate that I should be seeing more flops with weaker hands even if there has been a raise. specifically the first book seems to indicate that i should be playing only the top 10-16 hands if there has been a raise in front of me. Any help would be appreciated.
