If AP could just get its software improved, they will be a viable site. However, much of that traffic is play money.

If you are looking for Real Money stats, someone mentioned www.Whichpoker.com, and the site is awesome, but they didn't have absolute on there yet.

Empire is far from dead. 5000 players is an ample player base to remain profitable and grow for a long long time, even if it is shared with the skins remaining on the old network.

Planet poker is still around and has about 700 players tops.

Truepoker is still around and it is considered a "ghosttown."

Bugsys club mainly runs tournaments and has maybe 500 players at any given time.

There are a number of other small, non networked sites that have similar statistics which are still viable and offer a decent selection of games if you are willing to be flexible and loose the use of your pokertracker.

I think you seriously overestimate the operational costs of running an online poker room.

I just opened Absolute (8:34ET) and it shows almost 12k players.

Yes, the number of players on Absolute has increased nicely over the past few months.

Live B&M rooms can survive with 10 tables or fewer.

True, but consider that B+M poker is only a small fraction of the total revenue that the casino earns, and the casino can surely survive without it.

An online site offering only poker couldn't survive with such futility.

I respect you and your point is valid, but misleading.

Empire would continue to be a profitable company, even if it completely shut down its Party based operation!!! They only have 40 employees!

Don't forget Poker Mountain! At any given time they have at least 1 player, sometimes 2.

LOL

Yeah,
Whatever did happen to poo mountain? Last I heard Daniel N stopped wanting to have anything to do with them. It seems entry into the online poker market is so easy. How did they screw it up so badly?

MultiPoker is still on the same network as Empire.

I think the several times their Neteller account causing bounced Neteller transactions and the many tournaments they blew I think the masses did not trust them. The software was terrible tooand no one wanted to play 3/6 with a $2 small blind.

As has the percentage of players who have read slanksky books. I think ABS has the highest average skill level of any medium or large site.
