Great hotel and really nice rooms with plasma TVs and smoked-glass separating the shower from the living space.

First-class - and i mean WORLD CLASS restaurants. The Italian one there - i forget the name now - was probably one of the ten best meals I've ever had - and I'm a bit of a gourmand.

The casino, however - is horribly run. The poker room is a joke and the staff, floor, ecetera, do not care about you - at all.

If you live in LA and are under 21 drive up north to the Chumash casino in Santa Barbara

Check my location . But its a helluva drive if I have stuff to do the next day.

Well I'm not sure where you are from, but if you are actually in L.A. and not on the eastern outskirts(Pomona, West Covina, etc.) then Santa Barbara will probably take just about the same time to get to as Morongo in San Bernadino. My mother just recently went up to Santa Barbara for Thanksgiving weekend and she said the traffic was fine and it only took her about an hour and a half or so; just about as long as it takes me to get to Morongo(actually shorter).

Also, if you go to Morongo, try to check out the Hotel/Resort. That place is beautiful since they've remodeled. I have been waiting for a chance to check out one of the restaurants too.

Dominic, what you are saying is true, and I sure am sorry about how poorly the poker room is run. There was a time a few years ago when I truly enjoyed playing Morongo. Maybe one day management will wake up. The place has a ton of potential.

The casino is horribly run, but you cannot beat the action. Every underage kid in Southern California who has seen WPT on TV goes to Morongo to try their luck.

Re: The Morongo

This could not be more true. The 2/4 is amazingly good, 3/6 a combo of amazing and weak-tight folders who duck under the table when you raise. A few dealers are truly terrible, but 75% of them are competent, and quite personable when you treat them like humans. I played weekly all summer there, and half a dozen or so recognized and said hi.

When they're busy, the floor attitude is "look, we're busy. Can you go away?" When they're not quite full, they're reasonable.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Stay away from this S-hole.

This place is awful, been there twice and hated every minute of it.

No action, terrible dealers, crappy tables and chips, terrible floor and managing staff.

If you live in LA and are under 21 just go to Normandie on Rosecrans off the 110
Morongo sucks donkey taint.
