Re: Value bet or induce a bluff

You suggest though that you'll get called by an ace 30% of the time, meaning you only need to successfully check-raise JJ et al 15% of the time. I find two flaws in this logic. First, I think ace-high calls much more often than 30% of the time.

I didn't mean he calls 30% of the time with A-high, I meant he has A-high and calls with it <30% of the time.

And after a flop checkraise and a 3-bet, even though the turn went check/check, I think the bb betting anything that can't beat A-high is clearly -ev, so provided the bb is competant, calling with A-high is -ev as well.

If the flop action were bet/raise/call, then the turn went check/check, I think A-high is calling a lot, but the way it went here, I think calling a bet with A-high would be throwing away money absent any particular read that points toward the contrary.

I would bet all rivers here. I would probably bet-fold to a rivered ace. Unless it was a heart, I would bet-3bet any heart.

I bet all rivers. Checking twice is too clear a signal that you intend to call. He's unlikely to make a mistake. Bet the river and hope to be called by AK, JJ, TT...

Generally agree but what about betting all rivers except a heart?

Um, yeah. I'm with flawless on this one. What are you talking about? Are you trying to bluff him off aces, or did you misread the board?

Good luck.

Ranges here are wide, not just flush draws, pocket pairs less thn queens would do this, as would AK and sometimes, correctly, A,>Q. I would only induce BLUFFS on the aces, i may fold, but i would def. induce value bets for c/r's on rags against some opponents.

I would have lead the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

why lead the turn instead of capping the flop and leading the turn?

It's also an option, but i think the equity on that last bet is very very close so i'd rather see the turn card, let my equity change, then decide

gem says hi.
