Re: How easy is foxwoods 5/10?

I've had more than one session of 5/10 at Foxwoods where I've ended up down $700. When there are a lot of kill pots you're money can really disappear quickly if you're not winning. You definitely want to bring the whole $600, but you don't need to buy in for all $600 if that's what you were saying. Just buy in for $200 and keep putting money on the table if you take some hits.

Are all 5/10 games kill games?

HE & O/8, yes.

And what is the Foxwoods kill?

Any pot of at least $100 with a single winner

Just double blinds next hand or something else?

Blinds remain the same (unless the killer is in one of the blinds) - $2/$5. Winner of the kill hand posts a $10 live blind.

As you can see, once the kill is initiated, any pot of 5 bb or more keeps the kill going.

Oh, I thought that the blinds doubled for the foxwoods kill?

So the only difference is if the pot gets to $100, the winner of the pot posts a live straddle next round?

the blinds stay at 2/5, kill pot winner posts live $10 blind, stakes are $10/$20. big blind (non-kill) must call $5 to see the flop in an unraised pot..

Oh ok, this is more what I thought the situation was, except I thought that the blinds got increased too for the round.

I don't really feel comfortable messing around with a game like that, so I'm going to just play the 4/8 and hopefully kill it for a few hundred.

the structure of the game is great for solid players, especially on kill pots...i dont see a reason why you wouldn't sit based on your actual experience online...the 5/10 game is very easy, but can suck if you're not hitting, but i believe it's very much worth the risk

You said you were doing well playing 2/4 or 3/6 online, I would suggest giving 10/20 a shot. Just play your game and adjust accordingly. It will surely build your confidence. And if it goes sour and you drop $250 - $300 to extreme suckouts, then go to 5/10 or 4/8.

I know where I play, the folks who play 10/20 will play 5/10 regularly as well, and I can destroy them in the 5/10... I don't have near the bankroll to start playing the 10/20, but I hope to within 2 months.

Eh well I went, played 4/8, and lost 10bb an hour for 3 hours before I finally said screw it and left :/

And the downswing continues.

Thanks for the advice guys
