I'm kinda curious as to whether or not this is because we're looking for the "f" sound, and of sounds like "ov", or because speed-reading and just skipping over the of's.

Wow! That completely freaked me out. I counted 3, then went back when I read some replies and still counted 3. Not until I read the explanation did I spot the other 3.

And for the record, I was also a carrot.
