Re: Group Buy - Teddy KGB chips

I had the KGB Rounders chips made about a year ago and love them. they are the exact same except for the edge spots, which are slightly different due to pokerchips.com policies. for casino protection, they wont do anything but 1/2" edge spots.

the chip I got is the roman border chip.
the colors and denomination I got were as follows.

$1 White w Green Edge Spots (you never see white chips in the movie, so I just picked the ones I liked.)

$5: Red w Light Blue Edge Spots (similar to the imperial blue)

$25: Green w DG Orange (my favorite chip, awesome colors)

$100: Black w DG Green Edge Spots

$500: I could tell which color they used in the movie, looks chocolate in some scenes and purple in others, so I got the Purple w Arc Yellow (cool chip).

and for practical reasons, I didnt get the denominations on the chips. so pokerchips.com resized and centered it.

So the chips arent the exact ones from rounders, but similar, and I love them just the same.

i will try to post some pics in a couple of days.

btw, just ask pokerchips.com for some bear pics on file for chipart, they have the exact image.

Yeah man, god forbit you infring the Rounders copyright and the feds bust your door down for having chips similar to the movies....

are you actually serious about that?

phixxx,

I was simply acknowledging the fact that the chips we can get from pokerchips.com may not be EXACTLY the same as the ones in the movie and that I would be ok with that. In case you didn't know, many places that make custom poker chips are quite careful about avoiding copyrighted material to cover their asses. I was specifically referring to the original post in this thread where eric said that they would not reuse the original logo from the movie. BTW, you are a douchebag.

guys-

here is a link to the artwork that pokerchips.com sent me to approve for my chips.

btw- one cool thing is that once you order a set of chips from them, you can reorder any # of chips at any time if your chip set so desires.

Re: Group Buy - Teddy KGB chips

I went ahead and did a rough draft of the chips. See them below (I hope, this is my first time posting images).
Also:
No, we cannot do any spot pattern other then the simple 3 stripe. If we do clay we won't be able to do the spot identical to the movie.
Cathy gave me the colors for a 1 and 5 chip for KGB's, but we never see it in the movie. I don't like the pink on the 1 so I vote to modify it. Also, I want a 1,000, 5,000 and maybe 10,000 chip. (I will use this set for tournaments probably). So, I will need to make those colors up. I prefer to stick with kind of standard colors and use gray or yellow for 1K, brown for 5K and pink for 10K. With all those colors the set will look pretty sexy too. I'm open to making a $.25 chip too - that would be probably orange.
With regards to pricing - I think it's safe to estimate it at about a buck a chip. Cathy says $85/100 plus $50 for the custom printing (I don't know if it's per denom, or one fee). Shipping is a bitch because they are HEAVY. Shipping for 1,000 to me was about $75. Plus, escrow. So, about a buck a chip is a safe bet - I don't know if we'll get a large enough order to get a price break but I'm willing to try and to see what Kardwell can do.
I think that's it. Let me know what you think.

Hi Eric,

thanks for driving this! The artwork you provided is simple and clean, which is nice.

However, I'm disappointed to hear Kardwell will only allow the 3 stripe patterns. It makes the chip look pretty bland IMO.

I was hoping we could go with multiple stripes, similar to the excellent Nevada Jack chips. They've got great striping and quality (I wonder if they do customs).

Also, would the back of the chips have a different image than the bear?

Again, thx for driving this.

See this page for examples of NJ chips

Heres a better pic of a white and pink chip(Dayglo though I think)
Its not that bad, but white and red would probably look better

I really like KGB's simple logo and denomination font. However, it would've been cooler to get the fancier edge-spots.
