Philadelphia:

1980 Phillies
1974 Flyers
1983 Sixers
2004 Eagles

Any city with a halfway decent sports tradition will be able to put together a very good list (Boston, New York, Chicago, Philly, et al.)

I'm from the Philly area, but I still have to say this is a weak list. The 1949 or 1960 Eagles would be a better choice than 2004, unless they win convincingly on Sunday. And the 1980 Phillies? They won the division on the next-to-last day of the season, squeaked through the NLCS with four extra-inning games winning the series 3-2, then beat an ordinary Royals' team in the Series.

There is an obviously correct answer and it has already been said, '85 Chicago Bears, best football team ever, 1906 Cubs that went 116-36 and one of the 5 best baseball teams ever, and the best basketball team of all time the 72-10 Bulls from the 95-96 season. Best football team, best basketball team, top 5 baseball team, it's Chicago in a walk.

Any answer other than this one isn't worth reading.

I almost went with the 1960 Eagles, and probably should have no matter how the current incarnation does on Sunday. As for the Phillies, they are the losingest team in the history of professional sports, so there's not much to choose from. I don't know any other year to choose. 1993? No way. 1964? That's probably more appropriate for Philly, but 1980 is the only ones to win it all.

I'll give you the basketball team, but the Bears were not that great. Cmon Jim Mcmahon? Great defense but just another in a list of ok teams that had a good year.

And baseball... 1906 ???? What did they stuff the ball with feathers or something back then... Oh wait that was golf, still.... Any one of ten Yankees teams were far better than any chicago team from 1906.

Were you in a coma in 1985? I mean, seriously. An ok team having a good year?

The 85 bears I would compare to the ravens of a couple of years ago. Great defense, ok offense. Jim Mcmahon is a bum, sorry. I'd rather have Trent Dilfer as my Quarterback.

Funny... I think the basketball team is less dominant that the football team. The '85 Bears were absolute MACHINE. If the biggest beef is McMahon, I'll take it.

Think about it this way. Is there any city that has teams that are in the top 10 all time in their sport? The ONLY city to qualify is Chicago with those 3 teams.
