$50 on Paradise. Sucked badly and was reduced to $12.50, then read Sklansky and built it up in .05/.10 limit. I swear I still have nightmares about busting out and having to play those nickel games again!

Edit: Nevermind...didn't pay attention to the 'play professionally' part! [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Well, I don't play professionally, but my first deposit was $200 into Pacific; got the $200 match, took my $200 out, and used their $200 to learn how to play Hold'em (had never played before, a friend suggested I might like it)

I started wit ha free $10 from Royal Vegas anbd busted out after I lost a 12 dollar pot playing .05c/.10c NL holdem on my nut str8 vs his slowplaed nut flush.

I tried it again with 7sultans free ten dollars and was successful. I was at a sleepover (yes I'm young) and joined a $5 MTT tourney (i usually played the .75c +.25c SNGs) and I came back from like almost last to top 5 after I doubled up twice in a row with AA vs the same person and then busted him. I felt bad for that guy. To take my money out tho, my mom and I set up a neteller account and deposit. We deposited $20.

Lo, I remember trying to explain to her why one would need to deposit moneyinto the account to withdraw. That took awhile for her to understand.

damn it, you guys are pissin me off, all of you who became winners after 50 or 100 bucks. Ok, I'll be the first (hopefully the first, and not just the only) to admit to being bad at poker

my first deposit was $50 at Ultimate Bet. Followed by a ton more at UB and at Party. I had no idea what 2+2 was, hadn't read any books, I had played live 3/6 and live 5/10, so i jumped right to those games online. Like any losing gambler, I didn't keep records, but as close as I can tell, I dropped between 1200-1500 dollars. Eventually, I dont remember how (I wish I did) I heard of Holdem Poker by David Sklansky. While reading it, i happened to see 2+2.com on the back cover. Fastforward roughly a year later, I won back what i lost, and about 3.5K more.
