Re: How many of you people actually have real jobs?
I like math and I like teaching, I just dont enjoy the engineering aspect as much as I thought such as mechanics and thermodynamics. Those are so unbelievably boring. Also, math a few levels past calc 3 gets so conceptual and is never used that it also loses any of my interest.

Re: How many of you people actually have real jobs?
I am a process Engineer in a plastic injection molding factory where I've worked full time for for about 15 years. I make decent money and have great benifits, but now that I have found poker I am starting to dream about someday losing the job and doing this full time. I just started playing in SNG's and some tourneys about a month ago and have already made about $3K. Not sure if that is good, great or so so but for just starting out I think my game will only get better. I'm going to see how this goes and hopefully someday totally rely on poker as my sole income... however having to pay for my own insurance would really suck... and paying taxes on my earnings would suck too. You do have to pay taxes don't you?

Re: How many of you people actually have real jobs?
I live in Denmark, and i would have to pay about 50% of the winnings in taxes.
I'm considering moving to another country for a year with my laptop and my Neteller ATM-card Any suggestions - i would like taxes on poker winnings to be 25% max., with a annual Poker Income at about 70.000$ |
Re: How many of you people actually have real jobs?
There's some website about this. I don't remember which one.
I think Sweden might be good. Canada seems to be. Maybe England. US isn't great, but better than Denmark in this respect. |
Re: How many of you people actually have real jobs?
Sweden - are you kidding, then my problems will be solved.
Swedenn is one of the few contries with as big tax as Denmark, maybe not from gambling I will check it out. Thanks |

If I had a steady job that I liked already there's almost no way that I would drop it for poker, but to each his own. |
