O'Doyle, what was your hourly rate (including the value of the seat) while doing your original 120k hand challenge? If I was to do this, I'd probably move down in limits, and was curious as to how the hourly rates compare.

Augie, I'm guessing you're under 21 and then in the same boat as me. Which WPT events are 18+ instead of 21?

I did actually lose money, -309.00 over this time period. Keep in mind I played 120K hands in basically 36 days. I was mixing and matching limits so I could keep 8 tables going for almost the entire challenge. The package was worth closer to 12k, I earned another 600.00 plus in True Points, I played for 297 hours total, so I guess that would be an earn rate of about 42 bucks an hour.

However, this was unique circumstances and my hope would be that we will be able to negotiate for 120k hands over a 4 month period. Something not nearly as crazy and stressful like what I did.

Just a couple of points that I think should be considered; personally I would be against the idea of dressing up in army gear and parading around the WSOP or whatever ohter major event. I am not American, and if I was attired so, it would be presumed that I am. I also dont agree with war, specifically recent events, and if I was attired so, it would be presumed that I do.

I would be afraid that an approach like this would take poker somewhere I personally feel it shouldnt go. The idea of an "army" marching in to do battle is against the every-man qualities that help make poker great. True, websites do uniform their sponsored players, but essentially they are low brow and always a subtle decoration of civilan clothing.

You must be aware that while it may seem like just a bit of fun, it carries much stronger connotations when carried across an international audience.

First off, O'Doyle, I would definitly be interested.

Second, to the posters throwing hissy fits over the "army" theme:

It is incredibly ignorant to assume that calling a players association (which is essentially what this would be) an army implies support of any particular nation's army or any particular military action. No one would assume you support anything because you arrived at a poker tournamet in camo. You are just using this is an excuse to espouse your political views in a "hot" thread.

Thirdly, to all the posters whining about how they would only do it for cash value, instead of a WSOP package: You are missing the point. O'Doyle is trying to come up with ideas that will be MUTUALLY beneficial to the players and the poker site. The whole idea of a deal like this would be to present a marketing opportunity to the site.
