So it started out at 0.90 cents per chip. Then we get the great news about someone buying a bunch to sell and getting our price down to 0.80 cents per chip. Now I get my email saying it's 0.95 cents per chip. This along with the edge spots not going deeper is causing me to lose interest. Just wondering what's up.

As far as the edgespots:
I'm sure that money talks, but I know that TR King is pretty capable of doing anything with edgespots as proved by some of their chips sold to casinos (of course, they probably do anything for casinos and not for us)

I tooled around on old vegas chips and saw some interesting pictures of the old chip edgespots. These are just a few.

Personally, I really like the rounded edgespots as on the 25 cent KGB proof. They are bigger and bolder edgespots.
I know that these aren't on the movie, but maybe as a suggestion, we can put them on our blue $1 chip, and $5 chip, which weren't on the movie. These are the chips that I would use the most, so if they looked bolder, the better off.

As far as the intricate double edgespots on the $500 and higher denominations, It'll be a cold day in hell that I break these chips out (only in a tourney). Why not do the fancier stuff on the chips we will use (like the 1,5 and 25 chips) Of course while not deviating from the chips in the movie.

I just think if we are looking for deeper edgespots, the round spots are the way to go.

Just my 2 cents.

You've shown the triple moon which they will do for a home set. The half-n-half I never asked about. Same with the 'quartered' chip.

My understanding (limited and potentially incorrect is that you have a mold for creating the body of the chip with holes for edgespots (a blank) then you take that blank and pop in the edgespots...

The blanks for home sets: 4*1, 5*1, 4*2 (or 4*1 double wide like PC chips), 3*2 (or 3*1 dobule wide like PC)... He'd do the moons but I don't know about the halfers.

I don't know that anyone asked him.

Did you find any pix of chips with deeper edgespots? Or 6 edgespots? Or 'nested' edgespots? I don't EVER recall seeing any TR King chips like that (and suspect the molds do not exist).

deeper edge spots are not an option since thier tools do not allow them to do so.

A retooling fee of $3000 per spotting pattern will be charged.

As far as the old vegas chips featuring TR king, I'm not sure that I saw any chips with deeper edgespots. These were just a few that I pulled up.

Above is a forum that has Hoefler's custom TR King pics.
I think they are phenomenal.

I don't mind the shorter edgespots, and I like the "double dipped" ones. Like I said, I know that we are trying to be close to the movie chips, but what the hay, lets get some of the double edgepots or bolder stuff going on.

Either way, I think I'm a lock for this buy, so I'm just carrying on. I think the single edgespots on the $1 and $5 will look real nice too, simple and classy like the 1,5's at the Bellagio.

At any rate, check out Hoeffler's pics. Pretty cool.

$3000 for tooling seems pretty cheap. What would a new custom mold cost?

I agree with getting fancier with the edgespots if possible. I also agree that I'll rarely use the high denoms, so hate seeing the best spots only on these chips. The bottom line for me is, if we can't get the deep spots, six spots, and stuff like the original KGB's, then we can't really have a replica of them. So, we may as well just make them as cool as possible. Still probably in, but just wanted to share my thoughts. Thanks for all your hard work on this.

PS Nobody else cares that the price went from .80 to .95?

I wondered about that as well. Not that I'm complaining - Eric and Phillip are doing a lot of work for us in setting this up. I am just curious as to what happened. I'm merely ordering some samples - 10 of each denom. So this would affect me a lot less than people who are getting full sets.

I'd kill for one of the quartered chips (I like the yellow grey...but I'm superflexible on colors)

If it isn't too late I'm gonna snag a set if possible.
