IF we are going to be a politically correct board, which is what they guy wants us to be, then the word RETARD is not a bad thing. After all the PC term is mentally handicapped. So, retard or retarded just means "slow" or slowed down", which is what many people who play poker are. BTW my mom yells at me a lot for saying "retard". So moral of the story: MOM, quit posting on twoplustwo please.

Big Fat Slob, or Big Obese Slob? Which one is politically correct? Use of words like "Retard", "Moron", "Idiot" , I can go on and on. Some of those words are used in figures of speech to get a point across. I'm not a retard (though I've been called one many times) so I have no experiance being "Mentaly Handicapped". I believe the PC term is "persons with mental retardation." At least that was the preferred term 3 years ago when I took a class on mental retardation (also called "Retardation: A Celebration"). "Mentally handicapped" may have been the term before this term. Idiot was the preferred term 150 years ago.
There have been numerous other terms to describe mental retardation in the interim. I believe all of them were rendered obsolete because they became offensive. So... just wait a decade or so and calling someone a retard won't be offensive. It'll be an outdated term on par w/ "idiot" or "moron."
