Anyway... my results. Don't remember what tournaments these numbers correlate to.

499/2429 = 50 pts.
280/1344 = 50 pts.
369/1361 = 20 pts.
77/1205 = 125 pts.

no points in the other 4. total is 245 points. ouch.

I did enjoy this, though, and probably will participate in more.

All done. I played well. Only made a couple of terrible mistakes in NL. I need to run about 100 hrs of stud before the end of the year. I just don't know the subtleties. While I would love to win, and I love getting cash, I'm really trying to consciously learn with every MTT now. If I'm learning and closing leaks, I'm not too pissed if someone sucks out on me. Granted, some days are better than others...

Results:
8:00 $3 1220 of 2396
9:00 $2 55 of 2429
9:30 $1 STUD 460 of 597
9:45 $3 584 of 2112
10:00 $1 890 of 1344
10:15 $2 690 of 1203
10:30 $1 492 of 1077
10:45 $2 1314 of 1361
11:00 $1 119 of 1205

55th was 3rd %ile: 140
584th was 28th %ile: 15
119th was 10th %ile: 105

Total: 260 (assuming I haven't donked the math)

I'm not unhappy. I had some tough breaks. The other night I caught some miracles. What's interesting to me is that each individual tournament is important for it's own sake, but is less meaningful when you look at the broad picture. So many things have to go right for someone to win a tournament that it's really not worth worrying about, or complaining about the parts that are out of your control. Also, as long as you can maintain a bankroll you can always play another tournament, so there's no reason to have any fear while you're playing the one you're in. Sometimes you're gonna have a hand; sometimes you're just gonna run into a hand. There's no sense in developing high blood pressure over randomness.

Sometimes I tense up trying to preserve my chip position and I don't play agressively enough to give myself a chance at the FT. I think the worst thing I can do, these days, is let a chip stack languish due to fear. I don't think there is a "too aggressive" for me.

These challenges are great. Lots of learning; low-low price. I'm going to add a regular diet of these tournaments for the month of October and see where my game is. Thanks Exit, and good luck to those still playing.

-D.
