Default 2+2 SnG report

It was a strange one tonight - few wild plays, but mostly pretty solid poker. I enjoyed it...funny that!

Ok here we go:

CrisBrown first one out - AQ beaten by 77 on a A7x flop.

shub raises to 90, spike_tt makes it 200. unknown calls.
Flop comes with an ATx Spike moves in, kieron (unknown) calls. Spike has AK, Kieron has AQ. All stands up. Shub stands clear

Once again shub raises to 90 stoneii raises to 300 this time. Shub moves in, stoneii calls. Shub shows QQ, stoneii has the rockets. Extra Rocket comes on the turn to confirm things.

A lot of money shifts around between the two remaining unknowns

DrPhysic fails to convince anyone and loses a lot to a few bigger bullies than he is. (namely me and an unknown)

Physic makes a comeback by playing JJ as a small bet reraise against McMelch who takes the bait. There was an A on the flop tho.. but the Doc holds on

McMelchior takes a nice pot with 44 that teams up on the flop against unknown and DrPhysic. Doc gives up again leaving him with T250

The doc and McMelch both bow out to stoneii when he gets a nice little flush, slightly bigger than McMelch's.

Spike TT loses to a straight

Down to the final table.....

I all but take out PrayingMantis when my KK takes down against his JJ

He leaves one hand later

two hands later I double up again when my KK beats MobyDick's AKs - Sorry Moby

Stoneii loses with QQ against an unknowns JK

orrjan(random) who now believes 2+2 is a swingers club has 8000. I have 3.3k, hedged(random) has 3.8k, MobyDick has 2.6, HeyRocker has 2.8, iller(random) has 1.7, stoneii 2.6k, PokerJon 1.5.

Stoneii goes out with a straight against orrjans flush. He got the money in on the turn and orrjan needed the river and got it. Hard luck stoneii

iller takes a chunk of orrjan when TJs hits a T to beat QKo

PokerJon has been doing nothing but move in all night, and Moby is annoyed, calls with AQ only to face AK, niether hit a thing and Moby is down to 900, PokerJon is up to 4000.

I pick up quite a few pots PF, they look like steals but some are are not.

Poker Jon almost annihlates orrjan with trip JJJ.

Orrjan lives with J2 which two pairs on the flop to hold of MobyDicks AQ. First sign of the pattern maps coming out...

one hand later (Moby has KQs, Hedged has KJo):

Dealer: Game #281742148: orrjan wins pot (975)

t_perkin 2+2: awwwwwwwwwww
Dealer: Game #281743419: hedged wins pot (1315) with a straight, Nine to King
Dealer: MobyDick finished the tournament in 7th place

MobyDick [observer]: knew it

Hedger obviously knew it too - second sign of the pattern maps....

iller and orrjan are in all out war, orrjan's luck hold with Jx against Qx. Iller dies. Orrjan *definately* has a pattern map

Down to 5:

Me 7.4k
PokerJon 7k
orrjan 2.8k
hedged 4k
heyrocker 2.1k

blinds 300/600

hedged raises to 1800, heyrocker moves in. rocker loses unlucky.

I take out orrjan (finally!) when I call his bluff on the flop AJ2. I have A9s he has K4.

I nearly take out PokerJOn with KJ against KT he is saved by 7,K,6,Q,6

next hadn we both move in again with AT suited all sqaure

blinds 400/800
me 14k
hedged 8k
poker jon 3k

I take out hedged with AK against AJ

me 23k
PokerJon 4k

A few hands into heads up I raise with 75s, PokerJon moves in, I (have to) call.
Poker Jon has 44, I have well.. 75s

Flop comes 7QA, turn 7, river 5.

Pattern maps NEVER fail.

gg everyone.

I had more than my fair share of cards -but reckon I played them ok tonight.

Hope to see you all next week.

I wont win again, now that I have taken my "rake" for organising these things .
PokerStars are really very helpful about organising such "circumstances". *And* they have no problem with me using my Pattern Map (I am using the Log9 function btw. with a little extra function that eliminates the Baysian remainder giving me an extra 2 percentage points in prediction quality).

lol. Good report. Congrats on the win.

Why would Shub move in against stoneii's reraise with only QQ? Who did he think he was up against - Partypoker fish?

Tim,

I get the feeling that you didnt like my all in or fold attitude tonight!!

The reasons were 3 fold:

1) I had about T1200 coming into the final table with blinds at 75/150. Don't like my chances min raising with 9 players.

2) I had that idiot orrjan next to me, who I felt would call with any high card - he had already doubled my A8 up with K2s earlier. He also wasn't going to dump any half looking hand with a 2 or 3x raise pre-flop. So I might as well try and get him to double me up!

3) the way the flop hit me all night I was as well getting it all pre-flop!!!

I thought it was a tough gamne tonight. A lot of steals and not many flops seen. I only saw 13% of the flops (maybe that was coz everyone was scared off by my all in's)!!

Hope you tipped the dealer well for that 75o boat. I so expected the 4 to hit the River.

Enjoyable once again!!

Jon

hehe. Actually I think the allin strategy is a good one when shortstacked (but not too shortstacked) against a table of reasonable to good players.

They aint gonna call you with nothing, and with anyluck you will be able to get hold of a few blinds before someone calls you, then with a bit of luck you will hold up.

And as you say you had that lucky loon behind you.

I reckon you played it all very well.

It was 75s btw.

I play pretty aggressive heads up, especially when the stacks and blinds were as they were. It usually pays off

Tim

p.s. here is the final standings:

1: t_perkin 2+2 (Akureyri), $72.00 (40%)
2: Poker Jon (Chigwell), $54.00 (30%)
3: hedged (Mahopac), $36.00 (20%)
4: orrjan (Kansas City), $18.00 (10%)
5: heyrocker (Chicago),
6: iller (Stockholm),
7: MobyDick (København),
8: Stone_Eyes (Bangor) = Stoneii
9: HelmetSky (Ramat-Gan), = PrayingMantis
10: spike_tt (Swindon), = Spike
11: Big Gareth (Inverness),
12: Rhonda B (New York City), = McMelchior
13: DrPhysic (San Antonio),
14: slyrap (staten island),
15: ldblly (somerville),
16: Shub314 (Victoria), = AleoMagus
17: keiron (london),
18: CrisBrown (Wesley Chapel),

Default my stats

129 hands played and saw flop:
- 4 times out of 23 while in small blind (17%)
- 8 times out of 24 while in big blind (33%)
- 8 times out of 82 in other positions (9%)
- a total of 20 times out of 129 (15%)

Pots won at showdown - 7 out of 8 (87%)
Pots won without showdown - 19

My SB figure is very low. This was not intentional - I just never seemed to have a playable hand, and there was a lot of PF raising going on.

And how about that?

62 hands played and saw flop:
- 2 times out of 8 while in small blind (25%)
- 0 times out of 8 while in big blind (0%)
- 3 times out of 46 in other positions (6%)
- a total of 5 times out of 62 (8%)

Pots won at showdown - 0 out of 2 (0%)
Pots won without showdown - 5

2+2 SNG. We can name them now: 0% in BB.

Always somebody raising big. Yes, and the dealer *really* liked me.

But it was a good game. Though I hardly remember playing so little...

Hi all,

Thanks for the tourney tonight. It was very enjoyable as usual.
Congrats Tim for a nice victory. I got little impatient at the final table, I was playing a PLO multi at the same time, and it was not doing very well. It eventually got better(I finished 2nd).

Take care,
William
