not all do. look up the specs on the manufacturer's web site. you're looking for info regarding the EXTERNAL OUTPUT.

im pretty sure if i do ill end up talking to someone in india who knows less than i do tho, i used to work at staples and a guy came in and said that he called hp about his ipaq and they didnt know what an ipaq was

that link is just to glossy/sales specs, you'd want something more along the lines of a manual.

one easy way to find out would be to take it with you someplace and plug it into a monitor that can hack 1600x1200.

It should be fine. According to the HP manual on page 25 it says
14.1-inch XGA (1024 × 768), or 15.0-inch XGA (1024 × 768) or SXGA+
(1400 × 1050) active-matrix (TFT) LCD display
Hardware 3D acceleration, hardware DVD acceleration
External monitors up to 1600 × 1200 resolution, 16M colors, and at least 85 Hz
refresh
rate (only 60 Hz at 1400 × 1050). Refresh rate and clarity may vary depending on
monitor, resolution, and color depth
ATI Mobility Radeon graphics accelerator with 16-, 32-, or 64-MB DDR graphics
memory, 4x AGP graphics capability
Dual display capability (depends on operating system support)
