Downloading pirated software...virus-wary?

Flame me if you wish, but I'm downloading a pirated version of Photoshop from Limewire...but I guess you never know what you're getting with those files...will a quick pass through my antivirus program catch it if someone has tinkered with it and embedded some malware...or would the mischievous code not be detected because presumably it has been designed to evade detection from typical AVS's?

not true. only if it is in the virus list. if the virus is a new strain/a simple "delete your hard drive" type program (not photoshop itself but the CD Key generator) then you're screwed, unless you back up your drive.

True dat. Plus the most common are backdoors for botnets that are much harder to detect.
