Default Internet Explorer issue

I have used IE for years and have never had a problem until the last few days.

I can't see pictures, not all pictures, some pictures, and the problem occurs intermittently.

For example, in this thread, I can see her picture sometimes, but not others. Also, if I am browsing around ebay, I can see the small picture at the top. The larger pictures at the bottom of the listing do not show up. If I go to uselessjunk.com, I see no pictures.

I am not getting a red X. I see nothing. A blank space. What is weird is that banner ads still show up.

I went to my preferences and "show pictures" is checked.

I ran a virus scan and found nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

I figured that would be the response...

I downloaded Firefox and I am still having the same problem.

Now I can't see my avatar. There is space where it should be, but no picture and no red x.

Then you might have a problem with your video card or its drivers if all images aren't being rendered correctly. I would download the latest driver for the card and reinstall it and run diagnostics on the card and check to insure it is seated fully. Maybe someone else can offer other things to check.

And there are many other reasons to still stick with Firefox.
