2 table winner takes all tourney, should my play change?

could someone direct me to some good threads on how you should play differently in a stt/mtt when it only pays one person. I have done a search but im useless at putting the right requirements as whenever i do it i get completely irrevelant results.

The main thing is that chip EV and $ EV will match up, according to the usual way of thinking, because your chances of winning are proportional to the number of chips you have and that's the only prize. So there are lots of opportunities that you pass up in a normal SNG because they are +chip EV but - $EV that you can now take; calling with AQ when there are four people left and a bully is pushing goes from probably unadvisable to probably good, as an overgeneralized example. It's not quite a cash game, because the increasing blinds and inability to buy back in are still big factors, but it's closer than a normal tournament payout structure.

Here's a simple scenario to start you thinking about the differences.

It's the first hand of the tournament and you're in the Big Blind. Everyone goes all-in.

Your pattern mapper tells you that if you call, you have a 20% chance to win the hand.

What do you do if the tournament has a 50/30/20 payout structure? 100/0/0?
