Need some real quick monitor advice.
Hi there,
I have a CRT monitor that gives me headaches and I'm going to buy an LCD monitor tonight. There's a great sale on and I'm thinking of buying the E193fp here: http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/topi...l=en&s=dhs My question is... is this monitor similar to the 1905FP or is there a major difference that I don't know about, cause this is a great deal. Thanks! Ryan |

Re: Need some real quick monitor advice.
Wow...
I just called Dell and talked to a really shady guy from India who was trying to upsell me to the 1905FP.. when I said that I wanted to get this monitor it seemed as though he was almost warning me not to get it because the "resolution is much better on the 1905FP". I have a feeling I should just get the E193 though, which is about half the price. Help! Ryan |

Re: Need some real quick monitor advice.
Sorry to respond to my own post again but it seems the main difference between the 2 monitors is "image contrast ratio", as far as I can tell.
The more expensive 1905FP is 800:1 and the cheaper E193 is 500:1. What does this mean? I don't know much about this stuff Ryan |

Re: Need some real quick monitor advice.
Neither of those will do 1600x1200, so neither will work for multitabling without overlap.

Re: Need some real quick monitor advice.
I'm not that concerned about a bit of overlap. I'm on a 17" CRT now
I'm more worried about my eyes and the monitor price. So, considering that was it a decent enough buy? (I just bought it.. got tired of waiting for replies.. Ryan |

Re: Need some real quick monitor advice.
Just get a big used CRT if you have the room. LCDs are overrated.

Re: Need some real quick monitor advice.
The bigger ratio the better. 500:1 is normal [or should I say common], 800:1 is high.
