Default PLEASE help w/ the purchase of a wireless card for my lap top.

Right now I have my PC running through a router which is working fine. However, I can't get my lap top on line. Which leads me to believe it is the wireless adapter card. I called tech support at Linksys and was on the line with them for 2 hours and we couldn't get it to work. So, I'm guessing I can just buy a new card if my router is fine, correct? If so, do you have suggestions on a card? Are all wireless cards compatable w/ all routers? And how much can I expect to pay?

I really appreciate any help you can offer.

Yes, all cards are compatible with all access points (at some speed). Not meaning any offence, but it's MUCH more frequently (>95%) a setup problem than a hardware problem. Don't read too much into Linksys support not being able to help
