Page 109 calculates # of outs at the bottom. If you can refernce this calculaiton, what does the bottom set of #'s represent?

I assume you are talking about SSH, because GSIH doesn't have a formula on page 109.

What the denominator means in this situation, is the outs you have to each possible hand combination that can beat you in this example. See 3 paragraphs above for a qualitative description. What this is calculating is your approximate outs. Hope this helps... if you need further explanation, just ask.

Each number in the denominator is actually the number of ways to make each of the possible hands that your opponent can hold. The sum of these numbers is the total number of possible hands he can hold. In the numerator, each of these same numbers is multiplied by the number of outs you would have if he held each hand. These numbers come from the 3rd paragraph before the equation.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Bruce. I wasn't entirely sure I adequatley explained it, but your explanation helped me see that through clearer eyes.
