is dell the only company that makes a notebook with wuxga lcds?

Sony does, possibly Acer as well (not sure about them). Almost got a Sony recently, but ended up getting a great deal on a Dell instead.

higher end ibm t series laptops (usually the t4Xp models) have uxga (1600x1200) screens. fantastic but not cheap.
